Glucosamine dosage

The dosage for your dog may vary because of your dogs height, weight and breed, yes even breed can play a part in how much you should give your dog, a bigger breed like German Sheppard would require more than a smaller breed like a chihuahua wouldn’t need so much. Weight is obviously important but the bigger breeds of dogs but their breed may require even more than what is recommended because they are more prone to to get hip dysplasia more so than that smaller breeds. (As always check with your vet before giving your dog any sort of medicine.)

Read the instructions on the package for your dogs weight, Ask your vet if you should give more or less because of the breed of your dog may require more than what is listed on the package.

I would suggest starting in small doses, so your dog’s stomach can adjust to it. This is a long term plan so start small and allow it to gently build up in your dog’s system. Always give with other food if you’re giving your dog glucosamine tablets so they’re not taking it on a empty stomach. With the liquid glucosamine you would have to mix it in with their food, this is too gloopy to just be given, you can give it to them straight but some dogs like my own are finicky and won’t take it straight so I do things like mix it in with my dog’s food.
